Mobiles Phones - Constructive Not Deconstructive
This year my pitch at the Scottish Learning Festival was how to use and view mobile phones constructively in Education. Below is my presentation with audio for those who could not make it.

i think that moblie phones should be used in school but the school should provide the phones to avoid pupils teasing other pupils about the moblies they have everybody should have the same one also you will avoid losing them

I think you should be able to use your mobile in school and should be provided by the teacher in subjects such as math,english,music
to use but it should also be used in homeeckinomicks to take a picture of what you have made and that is why I think you should use your phone in school.

I think that we should be allowed to use our mobile phones so that we dont need to bring more stuff. Like a calculater or a stopwatch or a microphone all these stuff would be quite heavy but a mobile phone has all of them in one. If a child dosent have one i think the teacher should bring a few so that no one is left out. I think when we dont need to use them then we should hand them to the teacher.

I think schools should let pupils use their own mobile phone beacause the pupils would automatically be able to put in their pin code and find the things they need in class. If the school gives the phones to the pupils,they might not know where icons are and what the pin is so that means the pupil will have to ask the teacher for eveything.

I think that mobile phones should be used in school to help children whith their schoolwork. I think that the school should provide mobile phones for use in school so that everyone has the same technology in their phone. I think that as long as mobiles are used properly they could be a great help to some of the children.

Some people may think mobile phones may be a disruptive machine in school but really in school mobile phones are cool and constructive devices. I think mobile phones should be allowed in school. Mobile phones can be used for many things such as a stopwatch in pe a mic or music or choir so they acctully help us in school.

I think teachers or the school should provide mobile phones to use in class because that means there is no worry about losing it becuase they will be collected in at the end of the lesson. If pupils have their own phones they could bully with them and they are expensive to buy and pay for the calls and texts. Marshall L7
I think mobiles should be allowed in class because you would not have to carry a diary or a calculator to school all the time. we could also use mobiles to call our parents if we needed to.If teachers wer worried about us misusing mobiles they could keep them until they needed to be used in class.

We should use mobile phones in school because if rugby or something after school is cancelled you can phone your parent to tell them.
A bad thing about using mobile phones in school is that you can cheat in an exam by getting text the answer. Also mobile phones can be a form of bullying, so I think you should not be allowed to use them in class. Duncan L7
I think we should mobile phones in class because there are lots stuff on your mobile phone that you have your schoolbag. I think that mobiles should be used in school for the blutoothing of pieces of homework or for example in choir, p.e, french, science and language.there is the videos for science and also p.e which can also be bluetoothed.they are also used for calculator, the unit convertor, stopwatch, time and then there is also the calender.Stopwatch is also used in p.e.The bad way is cheating in exams in cyberbulling and you tube but we can turn that around and make it a good way in life. rory L7
I think that we shoud be allowed to use mobile phones incase of emergency and to recod your homework in your diary. if you miss your bus home you would also need a mobile phone to tell your mum or dad. Mobile phones are helpful if you use them carefully and correctly. mobile phones are a great piece of technology and children should be allowed to use them in schools. katie l7

I think mobile phones can be used in class and that they are the next generation in education.Pupils will have to be careful about cyber bulling and the other downsides of mobile phones too though.
I think that we should have mobile phones because we can use them for lots and lots of thinks like for recording spelling words words and to use them to cummucate with others if we have problems.

I think that mobiles should be used in school with education because it would make things more exciting and if we had to remember things it would be better to hear it as well as read it. yes i think that we should keep mobile phones.They are a very handy tool for calling home if you have missed the bus or just to record a joke your friend made.they are also very handy tools for using in school aswell.you might have french for homework and think I can spell it but I cant pronounce solution record the teachers words.or even recording a science experiment to show your mum and dad.I think they should be kept.
I think mobile phones should be allowed in school but only for emergencies.Like when a child is at rugby or hockey or they have missed the school bus.teachers should take in all mobile phones at the start of the day.Sometimes phones can be used badly.

I think mobile phones should be used in schools because it could help children learn. It can help them in different lessons. The teacher could keep it untill you need it.
In my opinion i think mobile phones should be allowed to be used in school. Although there are many downsides to using this piece of equipment the good sides would help us not only with our subjects but also using technology more than once a week in school. I think it would help in many aspects of teaching and let the teachers see all the classes work at different times using bluetooth.
I think we should have mobile phones for we would not be able to recive information that is impotant or that is an emergancy. Text messages are a quick and easy way to send and or recive messages. If at school you forget your field or anything you can use your mobile to contact that person or if you miss the bus. Mobile phones are easy access and also you can get pleasure from the functions that it gives and it can give you inormation that is important. the internet hands-out items that are very useful and or amusing. Things like bluetooth are things that give you and your friends can enjoy the enjoyment with you.
Alot of peaple thik it is worng to use moibil phones in school I think mobil phones are the newst lerning devise so far and sounds the funests for example in art you take a vidio

I came across your seminar whilst researching for my 4th yr honours proposal at Abertay Uni.
Im currently creating a animation and a small application for mobile devices showing the effects of bullying.
Would like to hear more of your opinions on mobile devices in the class room, in particular if you think mobile animation as an educational tool would benefit students.
